How to Read This Catalog
This chapter presents every named starship model in known space, organized by builder and then by class within each builder. Commercial hulls from the five great shipwright conglomerates appear first. Sovereign military hulls from the five major powers follow.
Each entry uses a standardized stat block derived directly from canon sources. Fields are defined below.
Scale is the ship's broad size category. Scale 3 is a fast scout or courier. Scale 4 is a heavy freighter or armed cutter. Scale 5 is a frigate, liner, or heavy transport, and is the largest hull a single owner normally holds without a business behind them. Scale 6 is a cruiser, carrier, or colony ship.
Speed is the ship's in-combat movement rating, used when performing maneuvers in structured play. Higher is better.
Cruise is the ship's strategic movement rating, from 1 to 5: it sets the length of an Interval when moving between Travel Bands in normal space (Chapter Six). It is a property of the Sublight Engine and is independent of Speed. Cruise 4 and 5 require an antimatter engine.
Handling adds Boon Dice (+) or Bane Dice (−) to Pilot Trials. A ship with Handling +2 is genuinely agile. A ship with Handling −3 is a brick that happens to move.
Armor reduces incoming Hull Damage from kinetic weapons, collisions, and physical hazards. It does not protect against energy weapons without deflection screens.
Deflection is the ship's base Defense Bonus against energy weapon attacks, if any. Most commercial hulls list 0: no screens are included at factory spec. Screens must be installed.
Hull Points is how much physical punishment the ship absorbs before it stops flying.
System Points represents operational integrity. When systems take damage, System Points drop. When System Points reach zero, the ship becomes unresponsive.
Power Capacity is the maximum simultaneous Power Load the reactor can sustain. When Power Load exceeds this value, the engineer must immediately make a choice.
Heat Threshold is the Heat level at which the ship begins to strain. Below this number: manageable. At or above: escalating penalties begin.
Light, Standard, Heavy, and Capital Hardpoints list how many mounts of each size the hull carries. A Light mount costs 1 Hardpoint point, Standard 2, Heavy 3, Capital 4. Smaller weapons fit in larger mounts.
Heat Dissipation is the Heat removed from the ship's Heat track at the end of each round. It is set by Scale and operator tier; see Chapter Thirteen.
Module Slots counts how many optional modules the hull can carry beyond its required core systems.
Crew is listed as minimum/standard. A ship with Crew 2/6 can be flown by two people under normal conditions and operates at full capability with six.
Cargo is measured in Cargo Units of secured hold space. One Cargo Unit holds one tonne of ordinary packaged freight; dense goods pack more into the same space and bulky goods less. A road freight trailer is about 22 Cargo Units. Density Classes, the mass ceiling, and the Encumbrance conversion are in Chapter Three.
Acquisition describes where the ship can legally be purchased, what tier of access is required, and whether ownership attracts authority attention.
Standard Systems
All ships include the twelve core systems as part of their Model: Hull and Frame, Reactor, Power Distribution, Sublight Engine, Maneuvering Thrusters, Navigation Suite, Sensors, Communications, Life Support, Fire Control, Defensive Control, and Damage Control. These are not listed as modules. Optional Slipstream Drives, AI Cores, and Atmospheric Packages are noted per entry.
Acquisition Tiers
| Tier | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | Available at most shipyards and commercial brokers without special licensing. |
| Licensed | Requires registration, a valid operator's license, or corporate affiliation. |
| Restricted | Requires government contractor clearance, military affiliation, or verified security credentials. |
| Military | Sovereign fleet vessels only. Civilian possession is treated as theft or prize capture at minimum. |
Crown Meridian Shipworks
Crown Meridian is the dominant shipbuilder of Irnan Directorate space. Its ships began as government-chartered naval hulls and expanded into commercial shipping, patrol, colonial transport, and heavy industry. Every Crown Meridian ship looks like it expects to be inspected: armored wedge silhouettes, labeled access panels, recessed sensors, and a general sense that the ship was engineered to still be flying in thirty years.
Crown Meridian ships are difficult to kill. Their hull integrity, damage control, defensive coordination, and power routing are genuinely superior. They are not subtle. Signature management is not a Crown Meridian strength. Neither is atmospheric agility or flexible cargo conversion.
Signature Benefit: Crown Meridian's damage control systems add 1 Boon Die to emergency patch Trials. Easy-difficulty Craft Trials for damage control succeed automatically without a roll. Hull and Frame systems treat Armor as 1 higher for collision and ramming calculations. Defensive Control systems remove 1 Bane Die when coordinating point defense, screen reinforcement, or brace reactions.
Signature Drawback: All Signature Management Trials add 1 Bane Die. Entering Cold Running Mode takes 3 rounds instead of 2. Atmospheric handling adds 1 Bane Die during sustained low-altitude operation. Reconfiguring modules or converting cargo bays takes twice normal time.
CM-440 — Armored Cutter
Crown Meridian Shipworks, CM-440 Family
The CM-440 is the ship that customs officers see in their dreams and bounty hunters see in their mirrors. Its armored wedge silhouette has ended more than a few careers and started more than a few others.

Factory Module Package: Internal Security Suite (1 slot), Armory (1 slot), Barracks Module (1 slot). Open Slots: 1.
Builder Benefit: Damage control Boon on emergency patches; automatic success on Easy damage control Trials; Armor effectively 4 for collision calculations; Defensive Control Bane reduction for screen and PD coordination.
Model Trait — Reinforced Compartments: Once per encounter, when the CM-440 would suffer System Damage from a Critical Hit, collision, or cascade failure, reduce that System Damage by 1.
Traits: Limited atmospheric capability means the ship can maneuver in an atmosphere for short durations but is not rated for sustained low-altitude patrol or planetary landing under fire. Pilot Trials in sustained atmospheric conditions add 1 Bane Die.
Common Variants: Customs cutter, bounty vessel, armed courier, corporate security ship, marshal transport, convoy escort.
Acquisition: Licensed. Available from Crown Meridian authorized dealers in Irnan space and most major ports throughout League and Directorate territory. Security variants with pre-installed armaments require a contractor license.
CM-540 — Escort Frigate
Crown Meridian Shipworks, CM-540 Family
The CM-540 is what a shipping consortium buys when losing one more freighter to the Verge becomes more expensive than paying for an escort. It is not a warship. It is close enough that the distinction rarely comes up in conversation.

Factory Module Package: Reinforced Command Core (1 slot), Internal Security Suite (1 slot), Armory (1 slot), Barracks Module (1 slot), Damage Control Station (1 slot). Open Slots: 3.
Builder Benefit: Full Crown Meridian signature benefits apply: damage control Boon on emergency patches, automatic success on Easy damage control Trials, Armor effectively 5 for collision calculations, and Defensive Control Bane reduction for point defense and screen coordination.
Model Trait — Convoy Anchor: While the CM-540 is within Short range of a friendly vessel, that vessel removes 1 Bane Die from Trials to brace, coordinate point defense, or reinforce a screen arc. The frigate's defensive control suite is built to run a formation, not just itself.
Traits: Armor 4 and twelve Hardpoint points put the CM-540 at the professional-tier ceiling for both. It cannot be legally upgraded past this without a military contract, and Crown Meridian will not sell one to a buyer who cannot document why they need it.
Common Variants: Convoy escort, corporate security frigate, customs enforcement vessel, contractor patrol ship, armed survey escort.
Acquisition: Restricted. Requires a security contractor license, a standing corporate charter, or a government affiliation. Crown Meridian audits CM-540 ownership annually and reports discrepancies to Directorate authorities.
CM-640 — Capital Institutional Cruiser
Crown Meridian Shipworks, CM-640 Family
The CM-640 is not a ship you own. It is a ship you are assigned to. Its long armored keel and layered compartments were designed for the people who expect to spend a decade aboard the same hull.

Factory Module Package: Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), Passenger Berths (1 slot), Barracks Module (1 slot), Workshop (1 slot), Internal Security Suite (1 slot), Shuttle Bay (2 slots). Open Slots: 3.
Builder Benefit: As CM-440 above. At Scale 6, the damage control and structural advantages are more pronounced: the CM-640's reinforced compartmental architecture makes cascade failures significantly harder to propagate through the ship.
Model Trait — Layered Redundancy: Once per encounter, after the CM-640 suffers System Damage, the engineer may choose one nonessential system. That system remains operational until the end of the next round even if it would otherwise shut down.
Traits: The CM-640's shuttle bay accommodates up to two Scale 2 small craft. It cannot land on planetary surfaces or enter atmosphere safely. Its strength is institutional durability: this ship is designed to keep running after taking damage that would disable lighter hulls.
Common Variants: Heavy transport, convoy escort, colonial supply ship, troop carrier, institutional cruiser, long-haul security vessel.
Acquisition: Licensed. Available through Crown Meridian institutional sales channels. The heavy security variant with pre-installed armaments is Restricted. Corporate and government buyers represent most of the market.
Antaean Openframe Consortium
Openframe is the dominant commercial hull builder of the Antaean League. Its ships are built around modular spines, interchangeable bays, standardized cargo clamps, and licensed interfaces. An Openframe ship off the assembly line already looks like it has been modified, because that is the point: the hull is a skeleton waiting for the crew to decide what it becomes.
Openframe ships are commercially successful because they are useful. They are also commercially successful because lenders understand them, ports can service them, and corporations can repossess them. They are not built for stand-up fights. They are built to carry things and change what they carry.
Signature Benefit: Cargo handling Trials add 1 Boon Die; treat cargo capacity as 10 Units higher for creative stowage. Module installation and removal at authorized yards takes half normal time, no Trial required for clean commercial modules. Communications and transponder Trials remove 1 Bane Die. Support craft launched from Openframe vessels add 1 Boon Die to their first Pilot Trial.
Signature Drawback: At or below half Hull Points, all Pilot and Craft Trials aboard add 1 Bane Die. Heavy and Capital weapons add 1 Bane Die to attack rolls. At Heat Threshold +4 or above, the ship gains 1 additional Heat per round from failing thermal routing.
Model 20 — Light Modular Freighter
Antaean Openframe Consortium, Model 20 Family
No two Model 20s look exactly alike after a year of hard use. The hull is a skeleton. What hangs off it is the crew's decision, and crews have been making that decision in every direction since the first one rolled off the Leagueside assembly line.

Factory Module Package: Standard Cargo Hold (1 slot), External Cargo Frame (1 slot), Workshop (1 slot), Passenger Berths (1 slot). Open Slots: 4.
Builder Benefit: Cargo handling Boon; effective 130-Unit capacity for creative stowage; fast module swaps; communications and transponder Bane reduction.
Model Trait — Openframe Interfaces: When installing or removing a legal commercial module at a proper yard, reduce the work time by half. When installing a salvaged or incompatible module, remove 1 Bane Die caused specifically by awkward physical access or mounting geometry.
Traits: The Model 20's low Armor makes it a poor choice for direct combat. Its eight Module Slots make it an excellent choice for almost everything else. The most commonly recommended starting ship for a Void Drifters campaign. At Armor 1, any hit from a weapon with Piercing tags is going to sting.
Common Variants: Tramp freighter, smuggling ship, passenger hauler, courier, salvage vessel, mobile workshop, colony supply ship.
Acquisition: Open. Available at virtually every commercial port in known space. Second-hand Model 20s are common, cheap, and frequently interesting.
Model 40 — Heavy Modular Transport
Antaean Openframe Consortium, Model 40 Family
The Model 40 is the largest ship a single person can realistically own outright. Above this, the paperwork stops being about you and starts being about your creditors.

Factory Module Package: Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), External Cargo Frame (1 slot), Workshop (1 slot), Passenger Berths (1 slot). Open Slots: 7.
Builder Benefit: Full Antaean signature benefits apply: cargo handling Boon, effective cargo capacity 10 Units higher for creative stowage, half-time module swaps at authorized yards, and communications and transponder Bane reduction.
Model Trait — Owner-Operator Spine: The Model 40 can be run legally at Crew 8, well below what a hull this size normally requires, because its cargo handling and module interfaces are designed for automation. Trials to operate the ship shorthanded remove 1 Bane Die.
Traits: Seven open Module Slots is the most of any commercial hull in the catalog. The Model 40 is bought by families, cooperatives, and single owners who intend to reconfigure it repeatedly over a working lifetime. Armor 1 and four Light hardpoints mean it cannot fight and is not pretending otherwise.
Common Variants: Bulk hauler, mobile workshop, colony supply transport, mobile trade post, family-operated freight line, salvage mother ship.
Acquisition: Open. Sold through Openframe dealers and the second-hand market throughout League space and the Verge. Financing is routinely available to owner-operators with a delivery record.
Model 60 — Capital Modular Bulk Freighter
Antaean Openframe Consortium, Model 60 Family
The Model 60 looks like someone attached a city to a spine and aimed it at the next system. That is not entirely wrong. These ships change shape between voyages and some crews barely recognize their own vessel when the modules come back in a different configuration.

Factory Module Package: Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), External Cargo Frame (1 slot), Workshop (1 slot), Trade Office (1 slot), Passenger Berths (1 slot), Shuttle Bay (2 slots). Open Slots: 8.
Builder Benefit: As Model 20 above. At Scale 6, the cargo handling and communications benefits are more commercially significant. 1,000-Unit base cargo becomes 1,010 Units for creative stowage purposes.
Model Trait — Modular Superstructure: A Model 60 may exchange one legal commercial module during normal port service without a Craft Trial if a compatible replacement and appropriate facilities are available.
Traits: The Model 60 is the most commercially capable ship in the launch catalog and the least combat-capable capital hull. Its eighteen Module Slots are its entire identity: the hull exists to carry things, and what it carries changes based on what is needed. At Handling −3 and Armor 2, it needs friends in a fight.
Common Variants: Bulk freighter, colony transport, mobile trade center, fleet tender, relief ship, station-support vessel, mobile shipyard platform.
Acquisition: Licensed. Available through Openframe commercial sales with standard freight operator licensing. Heavily armed Model 60 configurations are Restricted; most operators do not arm them because the weapon hardpoints are better used for additional module capacity.
Model 80 — Bulk Container Hauler
Antaean Openframe Consortium, Model 80 Family
The Model 80 does not look like a ship. It looks like a trellis two kilometres long with a drive block at one end and a habitat ring at the other, and between them, stacked in the open vacuum, more cargo than most worlds move in a season.

Factory Module Package: External Cargo Frame (4 slots), External Cargo Frame (4 slots), Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), Workshop (2 slots), Medical Bay (1 slot), Barracks Module (1 slot), Shuttle Bay (2 slots), Towing Rig (2 slots). Open Slots: 4.
Builder Benefit: Full Antaean signature benefits apply: cargo handling Boon, effective cargo capacity 10 Cargo Units higher for creative stowage, half-time module swaps at authorized yards, and communications and transponder Bane reduction.
Model Trait — Open Trellis: Cargo pods clamp to the external spine rather than loading through a hold, so the Model 80 loads and unloads in a quarter of the normal time given adequate port handling equipment. Without that equipment it cannot unload at all. A Model 80 at a fringe station with no cargo tenders is a very large paperweight.
Traits: Five thousand Cargo Units is roughly 227 road freight trailers, five times the Model 60 and the largest cargo capacity in known space outside a station. Power Capacity 20 and Heat Threshold 22 both sit at the civilian ceiling for Scale 7, because holding that much mass against maneuvering loads consumes almost everything the reactor produces. Armor 1 and six Light hardpoints mean it cannot defend itself in any meaningful sense; Model 80s travel escorted, in convoy, or not at all.
The spine is open to vacuum. There is no gravity to hold a stack down, so every pod is clamped, tensioned, and monitored, and the engineering that keeps five thousand units of freight attached during a hard burn is the single most impressive thing about the design. Crews who have watched a clamp failure do not discuss it.
Common Variants: Bulk ore hauler, colony supply convoy lead, container liner, mobile trade depot, refugee transport (pods converted to habitation).
Acquisition: Licensed. Requires a bulk freight charter and a corporate or consortium backer. No individual owns a Model 80. Financing runs through shipping consortia, and the crew are employees of whoever holds the paper.
Viridian Lattice Yards
Viridian builds the most technologically refined civilian ships in known space. Their hulls are characterized by advanced AI integration, superior navigation, excellent sensors, deep life support, and medical capability. A Viridian ship knows what is wrong with it before the crew does. The catch is that it will not always explain clearly and will resist improvised repairs with consistent passive hostility.
Viridian ships are expensive, difficult to repair outside certified yards, and temperamental when pushed beyond their design parameters. Their strengths lie in precision, information, and keeping people alive. They are not built for roughness.
Signature Benefit: AI Core provides 1 additional Active Channel per round and when an assigned Directive Package covers the task, AI assistance removes both 1 Trial Die and 1 Bane Die. Astrogation Trials add 1 Boon Die for Slipstream work. Sensors treat detection range as 1 band farther; scan Trials remove 1 Bane Die. Life support accommodates all species automatically. Medical Trials aboard add 1 Boon Die. Stack preservation and continuity Trials add 1 Boon Die.
Signature Drawback: Craft Trials using improvised tools or non-Viridian parts add 1 Bane Die. Non-Viridian system installations add 1 additional Bane Die beyond normal compatibility penalties. Reinforced armor installations add −1 Handling beyond the upgrade's listed penalty. Heavy and Capital weapons add 1 Bane Die to attack rolls and generate 1 additional Heat per firing.
VN-33C1 — Fast Scout and Courier
Viridian Lattice Yards, VN-33C1 Family
The VN-33C1 arrives before anyone expects it and knows more than they prepared for. It is the ship that medical response networks depend on, that intelligence couriers pray for, and that customs officers have learned not to bother chasing unless they have something faster.

Factory Module Package: Medical Bay (1 slot), Extended Navigation Suite (1 slot), Counter-Surveillance Suite (1 slot). Open Slots: 2.
Builder Benefit: AI provides extra Active Channel and full Boon/Die assistance when Directive Package applies; Extended Sensors treat range as 1 band farther; navigation Boon on Slipstream Trials; Medical Boon; life support automatic species accommodation.
Model Trait — Predictive Navigation: Add 1 Boon Die to Trials made to locate a Slipstream seam, calculate an offset exit, or navigate a poorly charted corridor.
Traits: At Scale 3, the VN-33C1 cannot mount Heavy weapons. Its two Light hardpoints are adequate for self-defense but not for aggression. At System Points 15 versus Hull Points 12, this ship is better at taking operational damage than physical punishment. Viridian's field repair drawback matters here: a damaged VN-33C1 needs a certified yard, not a frontier workshop.
Common Variants: Medical response ship, executive courier, survey craft, intelligence transport, diplomatic shuttle, high-end private vessel.
Acquisition: Licensed (standard model). The counter-surveillance and intelligence transport variants are Restricted and require verification of use case. Viridian dealers are concentrated in Shoiyan Concord space with secondary presence in major League and Directorate ports.
VN-53C1 — Luxury Spaceliner
Viridian Lattice Yards, VN-53 Platform, C1 Standard Revision
Four hundred passengers, ninety days, and a promise that at no point will any of them be reminded they are in a vacuum. Viridian sells the forgetting, not the transit.

Builder Benefit: Full Viridian signature benefits apply: AI Active Channel bonus, navigation and sensor Boons, automatic species-specific life support accommodation, and a medical Boon aboard.
Model Trait — Absolute Quiet: Passengers and crew aboard a VN-53C1 remove 1 Bane Die from Trials to resist fatigue, stress, and morale complications on voyages longer than one week. The ship is engineered so that nothing rattles, nothing hums, and nothing is audible that was not intended to be.
Traits: The VN-53C1 spends 174 of its 195 available build points, almost none of it on weapons, and carries the second-lowest weapons capacity of any hull in this catalog. The unspent capability went into fittings that do not appear on this stat block: panelled cabins, a real galley, wide corridors, gardens, and an observation promenade that runs a third of the hull's length. It is one of the most expensive commercial ships in the Verge and one of the least capable in a fight. Both facts are the point.
Common Variants: Passenger liner, pilgrimage transport, corporate retreat vessel, diplomatic transport, mobile conference venue, hospital ship (Concord charter).
Acquisition: Licensed. Requires a passenger carriage license, a safety certification current in every jurisdiction on the route, and insurance no independent operator can afford. Almost all VN-53C1 hulls are owned by charter lines rather than individuals.
VN-63C2 — Capital Science and Medical Cruiser
Viridian Lattice Yards, VN-63C2 Family
A VN-63C2 at dock is quiet in a way most ships are not. The life support adjusts for whoever is on the boarding ramp. The AI acknowledges you before you find the intercom. The medical bay has already begun a preliminary scan. The ship is paying attention.

Builder Benefit: As VN-33C1 above. At Scale 6, the AI and medical advantages scale: an Advanced directive AI on a VN-63C2 is managing thirty-plus crew, multiple patient populations, scientific tasks, and navigation simultaneously.
Model Trait — Protected Continuity Core: Add 1 Boon Die to Medicine Trials, continuity-stack preservation Trials, Life Support repairs, and emergency stabilization work performed aboard the VN-63C2.
Traits: The VN-63C2 has the highest System Points of any commercial capital hull (31), reflecting Viridian's deep-integrated architecture. It is not a combat ship. Its fifteen Module Slots prioritize medical, scientific, and continuity support. Extended sensors are standard. The six open slots allow significant customization for specific missions.
Common Variants: Hospital ship, research vessel, diplomatic transport, continuity-vault carrier, long-range survey ship, humanitarian relief cruiser.
Acquisition: Licensed. Medical and research variants are available through Viridian institutional sales. Stack-preservation and clone support variants require Restricted clearance with documentation of purpose. Viridian maintains strict records of all VN-63C2 sales.
Kharos Forge Cooperative
Kharos is not a single company. It is a network of clan yards, foundries, licensed workshops, and family-owned manufacturers operating under shared engineering standards across Funtari Confederacy space and the frontier. Kharos ships are built for people who expect things to go wrong and need a ship that keeps going anyway.
These ships are loud, accessible, repairable, and nearly impossible to retire. A new Kharos ship looks like it has already been repaired twice. An old one looks like a careers' worth of decisions made under pressure. Both descriptions are accurate and neither is a criticism.
Signature Benefit: Overburn Pilot Trials add 1 Boon Die and reduce generated Heat by 1. Maneuvering thruster Trials for evasion, repositioning, and confined docking remove 1 Bane Die. Emergency patch Craft Trials add 1 Boon Die; field repairs that normally require a yard may be attempted at Hard difficulty instead of Severe. Workshop Craft Trials add 1 Boon Die. Towing Pilot Trials add 1 Boon Die; salvage operations may be attempted at Hard instead of Severe.
Signature Drawback: All Signature Management Trials add 2 Bane Dice. Entering Cold Running Mode takes 4 rounds and requires a successful Average Craft Trial. Non-Kharos AI installations add 2 Bane Dice beyond normal compatibility penalties. When weapons fire, the ship generates 1 additional Heat per round from poor exhaust management.
KR-41 — Frontier Workhorse Freighter
Kharos Forge Cooperative, KR-41 Family
The KR-41 is the ship that actually built the frontier. Not the colonial transports, not the survey probes. The ship that landed on questionable terrain, unloaded everything anyway, and flew back with a hold full of ore and a manifest full of creative interpretation.

Factory Module Package: Standard Cargo Hold (1 slot), Workshop (1 slot), Salvage Rig (1 slot), Towing Rig (1 slot). Open Slots: 3.
Builder Benefit: Engine overburn Boon; Bane reduction on evasion and confined maneuvering; emergency patch Boon; field repair at Hard instead of Severe; workshop Boon; salvage and tow Boons.
Model Trait — Field-Service Access: Remove 1 Bane Die from Craft Trials to repair or patch the KR-41 when the Bane Die is caused by improvised tools, awkward access, or inadequate facilities.
Traits: The KR-41's four-month consumables and atmospheric capability make it the most self-sufficient commercial Scale 4 hull. Its seven Module Slots are second only to the Model 20. The Kharos thermal drawback means weapons fire costs 1 extra Heat per round, which rewards kinetic weapons over energy systems. At Handling −1, the pilot feels the ship's mass, especially in confined spaces.
Common Variants: Frontier freighter, salvage tug, mining tender, colony hauler, armed transport, blockade runner, mobile repair ship.
Acquisition: Open. The most commonly available ship beyond developed space. Kharos dealers operate at most frontier ports and many of the rougher inner-system stations. Second-hand KR-41s are extraordinarily common.
KR-51 — Heavy Salvage Tender
Kharos Forge Cooperative, KR-51 Family
The KR-51 exists because somebody has to go out and drag the wrecks home, and the ships that do that work take the same beating twice: once from the job, and once from whatever killed the wreck in the first place.

Builder Benefit: Full Kharos signature benefits apply: Overburn Boon with reduced Heat, thruster Bane reduction, field repairs at Hard instead of Severe, workshop Craft Boon, and towing and salvage Boons.
Model Trait — Dead Weight Handling: The KR-51 ignores the Handling penalty for towing a vessel of equal or smaller Scale. Trials to stabilize, secure, or manoeuvre a derelict under tow add 1 Boon Die.
Traits: The KR-51 is the standard heavy salvage platform of the Verge and the largest hull most independent salvage operations will ever run. Kharos thermal drawbacks apply in full: with weapons firing it generates 1 additional Heat per round, which on a hull with Heat Dissipation 3 is a real constraint during a contested recovery.
Common Variants: Salvage tender, wreck recovery ship, mobile repair yard, asteroid mining tender, orbital construction support, breaker's tug.
Acquisition: Open. Widely available across the Verge second-hand, usually with a working history written into the hull. Kharos yards will rebuild one indefinitely.
KR-61 — Capital Industrial Carrier
Kharos Forge Cooperative, KR-61 Family
A KR-61 arriving at a salvage site is the end of the argument about who owns the wreck. These ships carry everything needed to decide the question — and then carry the wreck home as well.

Factory Module Package: Expanded Cargo Hold (2 slots), Heavy Salvage Rig (2 slots), Expanded Fabrication Shop (2 slots), Towing Rig (1 slot), External Service Arms (1 slot), Shuttle Bay (2 slots). Open Slots: 5.
Builder Benefit: As KR-41 above. At Scale 6, the salvage and repair advantages compound: a KR-61 with a full engineering crew can field-repair ships that most yards would consider write-offs.
Model Trait — Industrial Backbone: Treat the KR-61 as one Scale larger when determining whether it can tow, recover, brace, or stabilize another vessel or large object. This does not affect attacks, Defense, or Scale comparisons in combat.
Traits: The highest Hull Points of any commercial hull (45). The only commercial Scale 6 hull with Armor 3. The KR-61 is the toughest civilian ship in the catalog, not because it was designed for combat but because industrial work requires structural resilience. Its Heavy Salvage Rig and Expanded Fabrication Shop are factory-installed, making it the only commercial hull that arrives ready for serious salvage operations.
Common Variants: Salvage carrier, mining ship, mobile repair yard, industrial transport, mercenary carrier, assault-support vessel, frontier construction ship.
Acquisition: Licensed. Kharos institutional sales for full-sized KR-61s. The mercenary carrier and assault-support variants are Restricted due to the weapons capacity. Available in Funtari Confederacy space and most frontier ports with significant industrial activity.
Safa Celestial Arsenal
Safa is the most tightly controlled major builder in known space. Its ships are not merely civilian hulls that happen to look military. They are built around military assumptions from the first structural rib: efficient reactors, precise fire control, security architecture, and automation that reflects operational doctrine rather than commercial flexibility.
Safa sells civilian vessels, but every civilian Safa ship knows what it used to be and what it could become. Ownership is monitored. Modifications trigger alerts. The ship tracks itself.
Signature Benefit: Power Capacity treated as 1 higher for overload calculations; Craft Trials to push or stabilize the reactor under combat load remove 1 Bane Die. Attack Trials with Lock-On tagged weapons add 1 Boon Die. Point Defense Interception Rating treated as 1 higher than listed. ECM Trials remove 1 Bane Die; once per round, ECM may be activated as a defense reaction without a crew action. Security systems add 1 Bane Die to all intruder infiltration, movement, and access Trials. Cyberdefense Trials add 1 Boon Die.
Signature Drawback: Reconfiguring cargo space, swapping module functions, or converting bays requires an additional Craft Trial and increased port time. Non-Safa component installations add 1 additional Bane Die beyond normal compatibility penalties. Unauthorized modifications to Safa systems add 1 Crisis Die to the installation Trial.
Safa S3 — Fast Pursuit Craft
Safa Celestial Arsenal, Safa S3 Family
A Safa S3 on intercept vector is a message as much as a ship. Its narrow profile, superior reactor, and strong fire control tell the target that the people who built this ship did not think of it as a courier that happens to have weapons. They thought of it as a weapon that happens to carry people.

Builder Benefit: Power headroom (effective capacity 9 for overload); reactor stability Bane reduction; Lock-On weapon Boon; PD Interception +1; ECM defense reaction; security systems intruder Bane; cyberdefense Boon.
Model Trait — Pursuit Frame: Add 1 Boon Die to Pilot Trials made to close distance, prevent an enemy from opening distance, or maintain pursuit through hazardous terrain.
Traits: The Safa S3 has five hardpoints on a Scale 3 hull, which is unusually heavy armament for its size. Its one month of consumables means it is not designed for extended independent operations. It is designed to launch, intercept, and return. At only 6 Cargo Units, it cannot pretend to be a freighter. Everything about the Safa S3's profile is honest about what it does.
Common Variants: Customs hunter, security interceptor, fast courier, pursuit vessel, licensed bounty ship, executive protection craft.
Acquisition: Licensed (commercial model). Weapons-ready variants with pre-installed armaments are Restricted and require verified security contractor credentials. Safa dealers are concentrated in Jaziri Caliphate space with authorized secondary dealers in most major ports. The company maintains purchase records on every Safa S3 sold.
Safa S5 — Fast Escort
Safa Celestial Arsenal, Safa S5 Family
The Safa S5 is bought by people who expect to be attacked, can afford not to be, and would rather the attempt end quickly. It is the fastest hull of its size in the Verge and it is not close.

Builder Benefit: Full Safa signature benefits apply: effective Power Capacity 14 for overload calculations, Lock-On attack Boon, Point Defense Interception Rating 1 higher, ECM Bane reduction with one free defensive activation per round, and security and cyberdefense Boons.
Model Trait — Standoff Doctrine: Once per encounter, when the Safa S5 successfully disengages from an opponent, it may immediately fire one weapon at that opponent as a reaction. Safa builds ships that punish pursuit.
Traits: Speed 5 at Scale 5 is unmatched among commercial hulls. Twelve Hardpoint points and Armor 3 sit at or just under the professional ceiling. With only one open Module Slot and Cargo 40, the S5 cannot be repurposed into a freighter, which is deliberate: Safa does not want its escorts becoming anything else.
Common Variants: Executive escort, corporate security flagship, high-value courier, charter bodyguard vessel, Caliphate contractor patrol.
Acquisition: Restricted. Requires verified security contractor credentials or government affiliation. Safa reviews every S5 sale and monitors ownership transfers closely.
Safa S6 — Capital Security Cruiser
Safa Celestial Arsenal, Safa S6 Family
There is a reason the Safa S6 is the only commercial capital hull with thirteen weapon hardpoints. Safa does not build ships that become things they are not. The Safa S6 knows exactly what it is, and it wants you to know as well.

Builder Benefit: Effective Power Capacity 17 for overload calculations; full Safa signature benefits apply including PD, ECM, security, and cyberdefense. At Scale 6, Advanced directive AI coordinates fire control, electronic warfare, and security monitoring simultaneously.
Model Trait — High-Output Spine: Once per encounter, the engineer may reduce the Heat or System Damage cost of pushing one Reactor, Fire Control, Defensive Control, Electronic Warfare, or Sublight Engine action by 1.
Traits: The Safa S6 has the highest Power Capacity (16) and Heat Threshold (18) of any commercial capital hull. Military-grade sensors are standard. Thirteen hardpoints give it more weapons capacity than some military cruisers from smaller powers. Safa monitors all Safa S6 ownership closely: unauthorized modification of a Safa S6 draws prompt and serious attention from Caliphate affiliated networks. Only 2 open Module Slots means crews cannot easily retrofit it away from its intended purpose.
Common Variants: Armed corporate transport, security cruiser, restricted research vessel, government contractor ship, command transport, convoy-defense platform.
Acquisition: Restricted. Requires verified security contractor credentials, government affiliation, or corporate security authorization at the appropriate tier. Safa reviews all Safa S6 sales. Unauthorized transfer of ownership is treated as a serious compliance failure.

Common Designs
Not every hull carries a shipwright's name. The designs below are built by dozens of yards across the Verge to broadly interchangeable patterns, the way the Dart is. They are the working light starships of independent space: cheap to buy, cheap to run, and legal almost everywhere.
All three are built to the same Scale 3 platform, and the differences between them are entirely a matter of who was allowed to buy one.
Independent Cutter
Multiple manufacturers, common design
The independent cutter is what a crew buys when they have outgrown a shuttle, cannot afford a freighter, and need something that will still be flying in fifteen years. It is the most common privately owned starship in the Verge.

Factory Module Package: Standard Cargo Hold (1 slot), Workshop (1 slot). Open Slots: 1.
Traits: The independent cutter sits at the civilian ceiling for Armor, hardpoint points, Power Capacity, and Heat Threshold simultaneously. There is no legal way to make one tougher without a contractor licence, which is exactly why so many of them carry modifications that were never entered in the registry.
Common Variants: Owner-operator courier, small-freight hauler, prospector, family trader, unlicensed passenger runner.
Acquisition: Open. The busiest second-hand market in the Verge. Condition varies enormously.
Inspection Cutter
Multiple manufacturers, shared pattern rights
Nobody is pleased to see an inspection cutter. That is the entire design brief: arrive, dock, and be impossible to refuse without making the refusal itself the story.

Factory Module Package: Sensor Suite (1 slot), Secure Evidence Locker (1 slot), Brig (1 slot). Open Slots: 1.
Traits: Higher System Points and a Professional Directive AI make the inspection cutter far better at reading a ship than at fighting one. Two Light hardpoints are a formality. Its actual weapon is the authority of whoever chartered it, and crews who forget that tend to discover the difference between an inspector and a patrol.
Common Variants: Customs inspection, port authority, insurance assessor, salvage adjudicator, corporate compliance, registry auditor.
Acquisition: Licensed. Requires a regulatory charter or a corporate compliance mandate. Private ownership of an ex-inspection hull is legal once the transponder authority codes are stripped, and buyers should confirm that they were.
Patrol Cutter
Sovereign and contractor yards, common military pattern
The patrol cutter is the ship most crews in the Verge actually get boarded by. Everyone recognizes the silhouette, and nobody enjoys the recognition.

Factory Module Package: Boarding Ramp and Airlock (1 slot), Brig (1 slot), Armory (1 slot). Open Slots: 0.
Traits: Armor 3, Heat Threshold 12, and six Hardpoint points are all beyond what any civilian hull of this Scale may legally reach. A patrol cutter will win a straight fight against an independent cutter without difficulty, which is the point of building it. Speed 5 means running is rarely an option either.
Common Variants: Naval patrol, border enforcement, anti-piracy, contractor security patrol, revenue interdiction.
Acquisition: Military. Not sold to private buyers. Hulls that reach the civilian market are prize captures or decommissioned units, and both are stripped to civilian caps before release: Armor to 2, hardpoints to 3, Power Capacity to 7, Heat Threshold to 9. An unstripped patrol cutter in private hands is evidence of something.
Sovereign Military Hulls
Military hulls are not available through commercial channels. Each hull listed below belongs to a sovereign power's fleet. Civilian crews may encounter these ships as antagonists, allies, prizes of war, salvage targets, or inherited complications.
A true military hull acquired by civilian hands is a political object: it has records, prior owners, enemies, and secrets. It will attract attention from the power whose registry it still carries and curiosity from every other power that identifies it.
Every hull below is built to the Military operator tier, so its Power Capacity, Heat Threshold, and Heat Dissipation are the Military figures for its Scale in Chapter Thirteen rather than a modifier applied to a commercial hull. The published stat block is the authority; do not derive one from a civilian equivalent.
Military hulls provide Military sensors as standard, and their damage control, fire control, and defensive control components sit at Restricted or Military availability.
Irnan Directorate Naval Construction Authority
The Authority Yards build ships for persistence. An Irnan fleet does not need to be clever if it can still be there tomorrow.
Superior Systems: Hull integrity, armor, damage control, power redundancy, defensive control.
Doctrine: Territorial control through disciplined fleet presence. Durable lines of battle, overlapping defense, control of infrastructure.
IDN-0044 — Military Armored Cutter
Irnan Directorate Naval Construction Authority, IDN-0044 Family
The IDN-0044 is what the Directorate sends when it wants the conversation to be brief. It is heavier, better armed, and harder to discourage than any commercial patrol ship, and it has authority behind it that the crew of a CM-440 can only approximate.

Standard Systems: Reinforced compartments, military-grade damage control, military-grade defensive control, military-grade fire control, military sensors, encrypted communications, point-defense network, armory, marine staging area.
Builder Benefit: Superior damage control and hull integrity. Defensive control coordinates overlapping point-defense arcs effectively. Power redundancy holds systems online after hits that would disable civilian ships.
Model Trait — Irnan Endurance: Once per encounter, when the IDN-0044 would suffer a system shutdown from damage or overload, the redundant systems hold that system online for 1 additional round. Additionally, when performing coordinated patrol maneuvers with another Irnan vessel, both ships add 1 Boon Die to Pilot Trials made to maintain formation position.
Acquisition: Military. Irnan Directorate naval inventory only. Authorized customs cutter versions with reduced armaments exist and are available to Directorate-approved contractor organizations on a Restricted basis.
IDN-6450 — Military Capital Cruiser
Irnan Directorate Naval Construction Authority, IDN-6450 Family
A IDN-6450 on the sensor plot means the Directorate has decided this system is worth defending. The ship that arrives looking like a layered fortress is not a coincidence in nomenclature: it is designed around the same philosophy as the structures that made the Directorate's early expansion possible.

Builder Benefit: As IDN-0044, amplified to Scale 7. Cascade failure resistance is exceptional: Calamities that would propagate through multiple systems are reduced by one step by the layered compartmentalization.
Model Trait — IDN-6450 Protocols: The IDN-6450 is treated as Scale 8 for purposes of providing cover, blocking lines of fire, or anchoring a defensive formation. Once per encounter, the fleet coordinator may spend a crew action to grant all allied ships within Short range 1 Boon Die to their next defensive or damage control action.
Acquisition: Military. Irnan Directorate strategic asset. Not transferable under any commercial or civilian process.
Funtari Confederacy Warforge Compact
The Warforges build ships that assume poor roads, bad ports, scarce parts, and the need to improvise.
Superior Systems: Sublight engines, maneuvering thrusters, field repair, workshops, salvage recovery.
Doctrine: Local superiority through adaptable, hard-hitting ships. Close engagement, unexpected angles, terrain exploitation.
FHF-4GA2 — Military Assault Cutter
Funtari Confederacy Warforge Compact, FHF-4GA2 Family
The FHF-4GA2 looks like someone bolted a weapon system to an engine and then added the absolute minimum amount of ship necessary to keep the crew alive. That impression is broadly correct.

Standard Systems: Military-grade sublight engines, reinforced maneuvering thrusters, assault boarding module (1 slot), modular hardpoint mounts, armory, field repair station, clan identification systems.
Builder Benefit: Overburn adds 1 Boon Die and reduces Heat by 1. Maneuvering Bane reduction for evasion and docking. Emergency patch Boon; field repair at Hard instead of Severe. Workshop Boon when present.
Model Trait — Clan Drive: When the FHF-4GA2 performs Overburn for 2 consecutive rounds, the third consecutive Overburn round does not generate the additional Heat cost. Funtari engines are built to push. Additionally, modular hardpoint mounts can be swapped at any Funtari-adjacent port without a Craft Trial.
Acquisition: Military. Funtari Confederacy naval and clan fleet asset. Some older FHF-4GA2 hulls have entered civilian hands through clan transfers, salvage claims, or frontier transactions that are difficult to characterize. The Confederacy does not actively pursue every transferred FHF-4GA2 but notes their location through commercial tracking.
FHF-6HO8 — Military Capital Assault Carrier
Funtari Confederacy Warforge Compact, FHF-6HO8 Family
The FHF-6HO8 is the ship that the Confederacy sends when it has decided to be somewhere permanently. It carries its own repair yard, its own fighters, and enough personnel that it can outlast whatever it was sent to resolve.

Builder Benefit: As FHF-4GA2, amplified to Scale 7. Treat as one Scale larger for towing and recovery. Field repair advantages compound at this Scale: the FHF-6HO8's fabrication shop can manufacture replacement parts from feedstock on a campaign timeline.
Model Trait — Mobile Forge: The FHF-6HO8 can perform full Hull and System repairs on Scale 4 and smaller ships without requiring an external yard. Emergency repairs on Scale 5 and 6 ships are possible at one difficulty step harder than normal. Once per campaign session, the FHF-6HO8 can fabricate one non-restricted replacement system component.
Acquisition: Military. Funtari Confederacy strategic asset.
Shoiyan Concord Strategic Lattice Works
The Lattice Works build ships that know more than you before you detect them.
Superior Systems: Sensors, navigation, electronic warfare, AI coordination, medical systems, stack recovery.
Doctrine: Information superiority, precision, continuity, and survival. Detect first, decide first, strike only when the result is favorable.
SC-43K — Military Reconnaissance Cutter
Shoiyan Concord Strategic Lattice Works, SC-43K Family
The SC-43K has already assessed your ship, filed a report, and updated three operational databases by the time you notice it on sensors. The name is accurate: it is quiet in every way a ship can be quiet.

Standard Systems: Military sensors (exceptional range), military electronic warfare suite, military shadow package, advanced navigation AI, counter-surveillance suite, heat sink array, stack-preservation vault (1 slot).
Builder Benefit: Sensor detection range 1 band farther; scan Trial Bane reduction; navigation Boon on Slipstream work; life support automatic species accommodation; Medical Boon; stack preservation Boon. AI Core provides extra Active Channel and full Package bonus when directive applies.
Model Trait — Sensor Lattice: The SC-43K's military sensors can detect ships in Cold Running Mode at Medium range (commercial sensors cannot). Scan Trials against cloaked or signature-managed targets add 1 Boon Die. When the SC-43K successfully scans a target, it may immediately identify one active weapon system, one installed defensive system, or one equipped module.
Acquisition: Military. Shoiyan Concord intelligence and naval asset. Recovery vessels and medical support variants exist. No legitimate civilian SC-43K exists: the sensor and shadow package combination is considered too strategically significant for export.
SC-61R — Military Capital Command Cruiser
Shoiyan Concord Strategic Lattice Works, SC-61R Family
An SC-61R at the center of a fleet formation changes the engagement before a weapon fires. It sees everything, coordinates everything, and remembers everything. Fleets supported by an SC-61R fight differently: more certain, more measured, and considerably harder to surprise.

Standard Systems: Military sensor lattice, military EW suite, fleet coordination AI, expanded medical ward, continuity vault complex, neural integration bay, military screen array (fore and aft), two shuttle bays (4 craft), predictive targeting systems.
Builder Benefit: As SC-43K, amplified to Scale 7. The highest Heat Dissipation of any capital hull in the catalog reflects Viridian-influenced thermal management in Concord military construction.
Model Trait — Fleet Coordination Lattice: All allied ships within Short range of an SC-61R that can receive its coordination signal may add 1 Boon Die to one Pilot, Fire Control, or Defensive Control Trial per round. The SC-61R's commander may spend a crew action to redirect this bonus to a different Trial type each round. The SC-61R itself cannot benefit from this trait.
Acquisition: Military. Shoiyan Concord strategic command asset.
Jaziri Sacred Arsenal Directorate
The Sacred Arsenals build ships that act decisively. Jaziri warships are fast, precise, doctrinally rigid, and technologically dangerous.
Superior Systems: Reactor output, fire control, cyberdefense, security, point defense.
Doctrine: Decisive force applied with discipline and purpose. Pursue, identify, and overwhelm at the decisive point.
Purifier — Military Fast Strike Corvette
Jaziri Sacred Arsenal Directorate, Purifier Family
The Purifier arrives having already decided. When it appears on the sensor plot it is already committed to its course of action, and crews that underestimate the gap between its first detected position and its effective weapons range rarely make the same mistake twice.

Standard Systems: Military reactor, military fire control, military cyberdefense, internal security suite, point defense network (Interception +1 from Safa signature), encrypted communications, cryptographic certification.
Builder Benefit: Power Capacity effectively 14 for overload; reactor stability Bane reduction; Lock-On weapon attack Boon; PD Interception +1; ECM free reaction; security intruder Bane; cyberdefense Boon.
Model Trait — Decisive Strike: When the Purifier fires a weapon with the Lock-On tag at a target it has successfully locked for 2 or more consecutive rounds, that weapon's attack ignores the target's Defense Bonus from deflection screens. The Caliphate doctrine of overwhelming commitment at the decisive moment is built into the fire control firmware.
Acquisition: Military. Jaziri Caliphate naval asset. No civilian equivalent exists.
Deliverer — Military Capital Command and Fire Support Ship
Jaziri Sacred Arsenal Directorate, Deliverer Family
The Deliverer is the reason the Caliphate's neighbors negotiate before they escalate. When the Sacred Arsenals send one, they are communicating a position clearly and without ambiguity. The position is: we have already won the engagement at the physics level. Now let us discuss whether you would like to proceed.

Standard Systems: Military reactor (highest Power Capacity in catalog), military fire control, military EW suite, military screen array (fore and aft), point defense network, cyberdefense grid, reinforced command core, armory and marine staging complex, two shuttle bays (4 craft), phase interdiction system (classified, 4 uses).
Builder Benefit: As Purifier, amplified to Scale 7. The Deliverer's Power Capacity of 23 is the highest of any ship in the launch catalog, reflecting the Caliphate's priority on reactor performance and fire control.
Model Trait — Arsenal Doctrine: Once per encounter, the Deliverer may declare a full-fire salvo: all weapons in one arc may be fired simultaneously as a single combined action. The combined attack uses the highest relevant skill plus 1 Boon Die, but all weapons fire and all resulting Heat and Power Load is applied immediately. Systems that would be pushed past safe limits from the simultaneous demand require immediate engineer response.
Acquisition: Military. Jaziri Caliphate strategic naval asset. Classified systems aboard make civilian acquisition a diplomatic incident.
Antaean League Contract Defense Yards
The Contract Yards build ships that protect trade, preserve access, and control the terms of engagement.
Superior Systems: Communications, logistics, support craft, modular mission systems, fleet coordination.
Doctrine: Network warfare, relay control, convoy protection, rapid reconfiguration. Strongest near infrastructure.
AX-7 — Military Modular Escort
Antaean League Contract Defense Yards, AX-7 Family
The AX-7 is the most adaptable military ship in known space and the one most likely to arrive at a problem having already coordinated three other ships, two relay stations, and a corporate security contractor to be there simultaneously.

Standard Systems: Military communications suite, transponder coordination system, fleet relay interface, military EW suite, mission-bay module (1 slot, swappable), armory, modular hardpoint mounts.
Builder Benefit: Cargo handling Boon (for tactical logistics). Communications and transponder Trials remove Bane Die. Module installation takes half time. Support craft add Boon to first Pilot Trial.
Model Trait — Contract Network: Once per encounter, the AX-7 may invoke a contract network coordination action: select one allied ship within Long range that is receiving the AX-7's communications. That ship may immediately perform one additional crew action out of sequence. This does not cost the AX-7 its own action. The network is pre-authorized. The coordination was arranged before the encounter began.
Acquisition: Military. Antaean League and affiliated contractor defense organizations. The modular mission bay makes AX-7 hulls attractive for specialized security operations; some authorized variants exist for approved corporate security forces on a Restricted basis.
AX-Q2X — Military Capital Command and Logistics Carrier
Antaean League Contract Defense Yards, AX-Q2X Family
The AX-Q2X is what a League fleet looks like when it arrives to stay. It brings its own logistics, its own communications network, its own legal authority, and enough supporting craft and modular systems to sustain operations indefinitely without outside supply. The Directorate brings fortresses. The League brings moving cities.

Standard Systems: Military communications array, fleet relay coordination hub, logistics coordination AI, detachable defense sections (2), expanded hangar (8 small craft), expanded fabrication shop, trade authority module, automated tariff and interdiction systems, military EW suite.
Builder Benefit: As AX-7, amplified to Scale 7. 20 Module Slots — the most of any hull in the catalog — reflects the Exchange's philosophy: the ship is infrastructure first and weapon platform second.
Model Trait — Network Supremacy: The AX-Q2X is treated as a relay station for communications purposes. All allied ships within Long range of an AX-Q2X may communicate with any other allied ship within Long range without delay or signal degradation. When the AX-Q2X coordinates an operation, the first crew action each allied ship takes in the encounter that involves communication or coordination adds 1 Boon Die automatically.
Acquisition: Military. Antaean League strategic logistics asset.
